Meet the gorgeous Emily, the newest addition to our small Wonsuponatime team (the unicorns). We talk fairytales, fashion and Brighton with our PR and Social Media Assistant.
- Where did you grow up and how did this influence your interest in fashion?
Growing up in Staines, my home town didn’t influence my interest in fashion. It was really when I moved to Brighton for university when my fashion love flourished. Style in Brighton is more about self expression than trends, it’s all about self-expression, which I really admire. Living there does give you the freedom to try anything and find out what you love. Plus the hundreds of vintage shops mixed with high street stores was my heaven.
- Who are your fashion icons and why?
My number one, has to be Edie Sedgwick. She was naturally gorgeous but it’s really her flawless make up that people remember. Her look inspired a generation and is still relevant today – ‘Poor Little Rich Girl’ is the reason I brought a leopard print fur jacket last year!
- What was your favourite fairy-tale growing up?
My favourite fairy-tale has to the Brothers Grimm version of Little Red Riding Hood. It’s a story that we all grew up but there’s something so dark about it, plus, the Red Riding Hood always looks pretty damn stylish.
- If you could be any Disney princess, who would you be?
I love Jasmine and used to tell all my friends at primary school that my full name was Emily Princess Jasmine Jones, BUT if I had to choose it would be Belle. I was a literature student so we definitely have a shared love of books. All the princesses are good role models.
- What did you used to want to be growing up?
I went through a lot of career aspirations – Princess Jasmine, a zoo vet, a make-up artist… I finally decided I wanted to do something where I could write as that has always been my passion. Plus, there are not many career opportunities for professional Princess Jasmine’s.
- What’s your favourite piece of Wonsuponatime jewellery?
It’s so hard to pick just one but if I had to, I think it would have to be the druzy ring in the upcoming Ice Queen collection. It’s so unique and such a statement piece of jewellery – I fell in love as soon as I saw it.
